How to apply - Step-by-Step
To apply for social housing in Newcastle follow the step-by-step guide below.
Before you begin
When completing the application form you only have 15 minutes to complete each page. If you do not complete the page within 15 minutes your answers will not be saved, and you will have to re-enter the details for that page.
We recommend that you have the information listed below available before you start your application.
- The national insurance number for yourself and any joint applicant.
- Your address and the address for any joint applicant, including the postcode and date that you moved in.
- A memorable date.
- A password (see the note about passwords below.
- The full name and date of birth of any household members.
- The housing history for ALL household members for the past six years. This must include the dates that you moved in and out and there must not be any gaps between the dates.
Passwords
The password must contain:
- 2x UPPER CASE letters
- 2 x lower case letters
- 2 x numbers
- It must not contain any symbols or punctuation.

Step 1 - Register your household
You will need to register your household. To do this click on register. The page will open in a new window for you.
Submit your information.
Make a note of your login reference.
Remember to click on submit form to complete this section.
Step 2 - Complete your Social Housing Application
After you have registered your household, you will need to complete a Social Housing Application. If you do not this your application will not be complete.
Select ' Apply for Social Housing' Submit your information. Remember that you only have 15 minutes to complete each page.
REMEMBER to click on to complete your Social Housing Application.
Step 3 - Provide us with supporting information.
We will need you to provide us with information to support your application. If we do not receive this your application will not be considered and it will be closed. We ask that this information is provided to us within 28 days. If you have problems providing us with this information, please let us know.

Step 4 - Our Decision
When we receive your application, we will review the information that you have provided us with and let you know the outcome of your application in writing.
