You may have seen that some of the property adverts of Newcastle Homes have ‘ADAPTED’ in the property description. We use this when a property is adapted or accessible.
We will use ADAPTED if a property:
- Has a level access shower.
- Is wheelchair accessible.
- Has a stair lift.
- Has hoists in the property.
- Other major adaptations.
You will be able to see what the adaptations are by clicking on the advert and looking at the property detail. You can find this in the ‘Facilities’ and the ‘Further Information’ section of an advert.
ADAPTED properties are offered to applicants who have been assessed as having a housing need for that type of adaptation. If you do not have a health recommendation as part of your application, it is unlikely that you will be offered the property, even if you are first on the shortlist.
We encourage all applicants to review the advert detail and only bid for properties that meet their needs.
